70? As long as you're at least 30 years behind her. ;) Great fotos; makes me want to set up a play area outside back. Right now I just have a boring sitting chair and a water bottle. hahah

Everyone needs a backyard play area! Of course, it helps if you have kids to give you the extra incentive to act like one from time to time.

And I wish I were 30 years behind her. Almost... but not quite.

Those shadows are part of a light show they run all summer where they use the Parliament buildings as a display surface for images and lighting effects along to a musical score and dialog. It's all rather hokey and touristy, but sure added to the atmosphere for the fireworks.

You enjoy your holiday tomorrow. At least your coincided with a friday this year to give you a nice long weekend.

Great parliament hill shots, Mike. But I bet the cats were scared . .

Thanks Rob, and I'm sure that they didn't like it much either. They only let the public up as far as the front of the main lawn on Canada Day, so their area around the side of the main block didn't get overrun with the crowds, and they could retreat around towards the library for even more privacy.

Still, I'm sure that the noise was a bit much for them.

The fireworks and night pictures are really good, but for me it is the portrait with the yellow lip!

Thanks. Yes, I love the messy hair and especially the eyes in that one of her. The mustard is just a bonus :)

I hope it is quiet. It hasn't rained here in forever, everything is crispy.. fireworks are not allowed.. but that doesn't mean they won't fire them off!
